Paris Theme Part 2

Continuing on the Paris Theme for my daughter, I painted an old chest using the inspiration from Pinterest and Live Love Diy blog (LiveLoveDiy.com) to help give me inspiration and painting tips.

The blog Live Love Diy blog section on painting.  I sanded the lacquer chest and used a white primer.
Then, I went to Home Depot purchased sample paint in black and pink. I used two coats on the chest and drawers.

I purchased the knobs at Home Depot.  This is the outcome.

Paris Theme: part 1

I am working on two projects for two of my daughters, I think I am a little bit nuts for doing this.  My middle daughter wants a Paris theme room.  We have started a little by finding an entertainment center that I had to redo and a desk for her room.  She wanted pink and black colors, this project is ongoing.

I needed a small entertainment center for the room.  This was perfect, so I sand the furniture than spray painted it used Krylon Colormster indoor/outdoor gloss paint and the color was watermelon.  It came out wonderful, but I should have prime the cabinet.  It took two coats of paint

My AVID Classroom

My name is Tracey, I am a full time teacher in a middle school.  I have three beautiful girls and a wonderful husband.  On my spare time I love to do DIY projects using popular social media sites.  I have done several for my classroom.   This year I teach a course called AVID, which is a course that prepare students for college.  I got some of my ideas from Pinterest or I used the pins as inspiration to create my ideal classroom.

I love to do collages. I made one for my classroom and the theme was AVID.

My students did a project called Talking Heads. They had to find words and pictures that represented them and place it on construction paper shape like their heads. I took their project and formed the AVID person.

My class used to be an art room and my cabinets in my classroom were terrible. I took contact paper from the Dollar Store and covered them. I also purchased bins and made label from a pin on Pinterest and used construction paper and made poster of resources needed in my AVID classroom.

I have pennants from colleges around my room. The canvas banner with my favorite quote, I got from Vistaprint for free, I just paid for shipping.

This is a set up of my classroom. I have white boards for my tables to conduct tutorials. I placed logos of different colleges above each table.
